The architecture editor at the national Danish newspaper Politiken, Karsten R.S. Ifversen, is the author of a long-awaited and very accomplished monograph on Lundgaard & Tranberg Architects created in cooperation with architecture photographer Jens Lindhe and published by Strandberg Publishing. In his introduction to the book, Ifversen writes that he is personally responsible for the opinions and content of the book. That it was not commissioned by anyone, and that it represents a con amore project motivated by his personal enthusiasm for the firm’s work. And that is evident throughout. The reader senses that the subject is dear to the author’s heart. ‘Vibrationer’ (Vibrations) is impassioned architecture writing of the highest quality. The detailing is exquisite, and the result is a publication that is as vibrant as the architecture it portrays, while throughout, Ifversen never loses his independent, critical voice.
