Ph.D. examination
I have for several years served as an external examiner for the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and regularly participate in the university’s practice-based PhD seminars and assessments. RMIT’s practice-based research program holds a series of Practice Research Symposiums (PRS) in Asia, Europe, and Australia.
The Practice Research Symposium in Europe is held at RMIT’s hub in Barcelona and features high-level research-based examinations, candidate presentations, a keynote lecture, as well as a range of social events associated with the symposium.
PRS includes presentations from candidates and research students in fields such as architecture, industrial design, interior design, landscape architecture, and ‘spatial information architecture’. In addition, invited PhD students have the opportunity to present their work in a public forum.
