One of Denmark’s biggest urban development areas is Vinge by Frederikssund. If everything goes to plan, two to three decades from now, Vinge is going to be home to 20,000 residents and 4,000 workplaces, thus doubling Frederikssund’s current population. Linking up with Copenhagen’s public transportation network has been a key aim for the development. In fall 2014, the municipality of Frederikssund held an invited competition together with the Danish Architects’ Association for a new central commuter train station in Vinge. The association’s magazine ‘Arkitekten’ asked Boris Brorman Jensen to comment on the jury’s decision and the individual proposals.
