THEME ISSUE ON AARHUS

Discussion of urban development in Aarhus.

‘With Ellen Braae and Boris Brorman Jensen as guest editors, we present two theme issues on planning revolving around Aarhus and the city’s new school of architecture, which recently opened. In the present issue, the main focus is on the city. In Arkitekten no. 8/21 we zoom out to the outlying areas. Based on a specific, rapid development dynamic case, we also try to capture Aarhus as it is right now and address more general aspects of planning throughout the country.’

– I contribute to the theme issue with an essay on growing pains in the city and an interview with architect Knud Fladeland and the former city architect of Aarhus, Ole Østergaard.
