DEBATE ON ARCHITECTURE AND DEVELOPMENT IN THE OPEN COUNTRYSIDE

BBJ is the moderator on a series of one-day debate events in Hjørring, Blåvand and Stege about architecture and development in the open countryside organized by the Danish Architecture Centre and the Danish Association of Architects.

How can growth, development and construction go hand in hand with nature and landscape qualities? The political agreement behind the new Planning Act aims to provide new opportunities for construction and development in the open countryside and near the coasts – but does it provide the right conditions? And how should we develop the open countryside in the future?

The event features presentations about landscape development, perceptions of nature, valuation of nature and construction, new business opportunities in the open countryside and the possibilities provided by the new Planning Act. It focuses on the landscape as a resource for local development and invites debate about future landscape development.

The event targets an audience of civil servants, politicians, planners, NGOs, concerned individuals and others who are involved in construction and development in the open landscape. The goal is to inspire and qualify the conditions for the development of the open countryside in the years to come.
