Inspirational Talk on Nature
On behalf of the association Ålandets Venner, I had the pleasure of giving an inspirational talk to the municipalities of Nyborg, Kerteminde and Faaborg-Midtfyn, which have joined forces in a partnership to restore the natural landscape of Vindinge Ådal and Holckenhav Fjord. The talk formed part of a partnership meeting, where around fifteen professionals and politicians discussed how the effort should best be organised, and how local actors – associations, volunteers and the Kystvandråd (Coastal Water Council) – can help create continuous, connected nature and recreational opportunities along the entire river valley.
Drawing on experience from the Skjern River, where the involvement of volunteers has played a central role in the restoration of its 2,400 km² catchment area, the talk offered the municipalities concrete inspiration for how a similar approach might be adapted to the local conditions of Vindinge Ådal.
