TALK AT ‘OPEN LAND’ CONFERENCE

TALK AT ‘OPEN LAND’ CONFERENCE

Water does not acknowledge the political and administrative geography we have imposed upon the land. Future requirements of more protected nature and approaches to food production that support nature calls for cooperation across municipal and regional boundaries.

Under the heading ‘What will happen if we let the water run free in the open land? And how do we get there?’, I held a workshop about the possibilities of future water management in Denmark in cooperation with Merete Hvid Dalnæs and Uffe Linneberg Gangelhof, VCS Denmark; and Gert Michael Laursen, the City of Odense. The workshop will be followed up with specific recommendations to municipalities and utilities.

The ‘Åben Land’ (Open Land) conference 2024 was organized by the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management at the University of Copenhagen, Landinspektørforeningen (the National Association of Surveyors), the Association of Danish Landscape Architects and the Danish Town Planning Institute and was hosted by Assens Municipality.
