PROPOSAL FOR THE FUTURE OF BORNHOLM
Rekommanderet, Kathinka Hauxner, Tredje Natur and Boris Brorman Jensen have been prequalified for an assignment about the future of the Danish island of Bornholm.
The aim of the project is to construct a common, recognized tool for dialogue that Regional Municipality of Bornholm can use as a basis for policy and strategy development.
‘Bornholm does a lot of things right, and there is a continuous stream of innovation and development within several areas. But the island, like many other outer regional municipalities, is struggling with a decreasing population, a growing share of old people, empty houses and trouble attracting new investments.’
Therefore, the Regional Municipality of Bornholm, together with Realdania, the citizens of Bornholm, local businesses, organizations and unions, wish to create a visionary plan regarding the future of Bornholm that can serve as a realistic foundation for further development in a time of decreasing activity levels. The plan should serve as a tool for developing,, evaluating and prioritizing strategic efforts in the municipality.
The future of Bornholm is a project that aims to develop a planning platform that is realistic in light of the present situation on Bornholm, and which is driven by real qualities that we can build on.
